Sometimes there are moments--really syrupy sweet moments that just remind me how big and important the job is that I'm doing here with Isla. Many times- usually more than I recognize, those moments carry me from one day to the next.
I was making dinner the other day and I had music playing. Isla was playing with her toys and as I looked up I saw my sweet baby girl spinning and dipping slowly to the melody of 'Let it be.'
Something in that slow motion moment- with Paul McCartney's words flooding over us, something wonderful gripped my heart and softened every cynical thought in my brain. That pretty little picture multiplied my 'patience bank' and filled me up with warmth.
In that moment I was reminded of her pure innocence. Her loving heart. Her kick** dance moves. Her curious smile. The sweet smell of her baby hair. I was reminded how precious the day was and the moments are. I say many extra 'I love you's' because of sweet 'moment reminders' like this one.
