Isla's 2.5 Birthday Flamingo Pool Party!

Hi Friends!

We switched up Isla's January Winter Birthday to celebrate #2 for a Summer Pool Party to celebrate 2.5. Kinda weird (I know, believe me....I've heard all of the confusion and questions) but our girl loved it and that's all that matters. Thanks to my Aunt and Uncle for hosting our very wonderful shin-dig. Even though it was 100 degrees (literally! ug) we had a great time! It was the perfect day for taking a dip!

Paper Decor from Michaels (That set is $10!)

We gifted the wagon and guests filled it with presents- banner from Target and letters from Michaels.

Homemade pink lemonade- pitcher from TJ Max

Cupcakes! Flamingos are olive picks from Amazon.

Fun photos from Printstagram (it's an awesome app- try it!)

Isla and her buddies: Gemma, Conner and Mady.

Happy birthday sweet girl- we love you so,so,so much! xoxoxo.

Gift Idea: Must love trains!

Hi Friends!

B got this train set for Isla for her 2.5 party and she LOVES IT- she spends a good hour (put together of course :) playing with this thing daily- it was such a good investment! Most of the set is wood too- the trees and tops of the building and wheels are plastic. The track is all wood and fits most trains if you buy them separately. We had some train cars from a Janod city set and they all fit--really fun! Plus if it ships from Etailz it comes from my Cousins company- and they're AWESOME! (and Spokane local!) Happy Shopping!!

Stuff

Hi Friends!

There is a lot going on around here on the parenting front.....

First, my kid is once again terrified of Spiderman. A month ago a little boy in the park scared her and he just so happened to be dressed in a Spiderman costume. She was scared for a while but kind of got over it. She woke up screaming this morning about Spiderman in her bed. We comforted her and changed her sheets and talked about it but when nap time hit she started getting all kind of anxiety about her bad dream. Needless to say a nap didn't happen today and I am once again FULLY EXHAUSTED at 4:30pm. (UG!) My Mama-friend L gave me the idea to 'spray for Spiderman' like you spray to keep monsters away. When I was a kind my parents did that with air freshener- I did it this afternoon with a water bottle and told her we'd spray again before bed. Lets pray it works and she will go down tonight. Mama's SLEEPY!

Second, Isla is getting her last molars and it is truly awful. She's sleeping which is nice but her moods are ALL OVER THE BOARD. I almost left her at QFC like 10 minutes ago because she was being such a menace. So many situations where my frustration comes close to boiling over- GOD SPEED MOLARS, I already hate you (but love her :)

Third, we are pre-potty training. The 'pees&poos' chart is up, the little potty is ready to go, the potty seat for the big potty purchased and training pants/undies are in full supply. I tried it this afternoon and Isla only had one accident. I think she still only kinda gets the full idea but she's great with routines so I think eventually she'll thrive - she's also very goal oriented (if you can say that about a 2.5 year old! ;) and is highly motivated by Disney stickers. (I hope this sticks or else I'm going to have to resort to M&Ms :)

On a positive, we hit up the Hanna Anderson outlet today and it was truly glorious- a Blabla doll for $25,  $18 pjs for the holidays and a perfect baby gift. Did you guys know they sell muslin sleep sacks that are A&A quality- reg $50 - 40% off today! WHAT?! I wish I had a Little so I could stock up! Lots of Winter stuff on sale too if you want to stock up off season. If you're local- the outlet is in downtown Woodinville but Chipotle.

Hope everyone's having a lovely *HOT* HOT*HOT* Summer!

xoxo.

Amazon Prime Day

Hi Friends-

I was like the last person to know about Amazon Prime Day. I logged online the night before and was like, "wait, what's this?!" If you know me, you know I CANNOT.RESIST a bargain. I was raised on the 'blue light Kmart special' and there is a little piece of my DNA that still kicks into high gear when prices start dropping.

I was cracking up at the barrage of negative memes and tweets about Prime Day because the majority of them were true. Most of the deals were crap- like total crap. A waitlist for a $7 pencil sharpener- really?! And the waitlist scenario pretty much applied to everything. So many good negative FB updates-- here were just a few of my faves :

But I will say that the deals on toys and baby stuff were great- I got a couple toy snags for a great deal- one that I've been keeping my eye on for almost a year and just never pulled the trigger to buy. I scored the Corolle Calin Doll for Miss Isla for $22-- such a bargain! She's really into her babies right now and will love this! I also got her a skip hop lunch box for $4.95- I am not even joking! It was 75% off. I grabbed a M&D baking set for Isla's kitchen for her for Xmas too.

Did you find any deals?

Who else does this secretly make excited for Black Friday- only me?! :)

xo.
