Hi Friends,
Today was one of those days that refill your 'Mom bank.'
Isla was so fun! Happy! Giggly! and wonderfully talkative. She is just so thrilled with herself that can say words we recognize and congratulate her on. She claps for herself and does a little, "Isla, Isla, Isla" cheer (that's real--she really does chant her very own mantra to herself). It's the cutest.
After not napping for the third day we kept her busy for the afternoon but she ended up passing out on me at 4pm. Even though I knew it would mean a possibly terrible bedtime (which it did-sad!) it was worth it for both us. She got a little shut-eye and I cuddled my girl for a full 15 minutes of bliss. We don't have many of those moments when she just wants to cuddle me non-stop or sleep on me anymore. She's very busy exploring and she barely wants to sleep in her crib so why would she want to sleep on me? ...which is why I didn't waste the moment or take it for granted. It was very sweet and I soaked every second up.
When she woke up she hugged me and gave me a kiss square on the lips. I guess she appreciated the cuddle too :)
I adore you Isla James. Life couldn't be happier :) xoxo.

Seeing Stars
Hi Friends!
Today I got to experience what it's like to have an optic migraine with a Toddler.
Spoiler Alert: It totally blows.
I had a great morning-- Isla slept in a bit and was in a great mood when she woke up. We had a fun little breakfast/coffee date in the kitchen, watched a bit of the Today show and got ready for her music/dance class. Right about the time I was done blow-drying my hair I started seeing glimmering lights and stars .... very much like a snowflake design spreading across my left-eye. Unfortunately I know where this all too familiar feeling ends....
...Me in bed with a large pillow over my face. Eyes pulsing. Head pounding....trying to drown out all slivers of light.
The little kink that my poorly-timed optic migraine didn't account for was the Toddler who demands my every waking moment. I have been getting these migraines for about 4 years- they used to be really bad at work and I attributed them to stress. I haven't had one since Isla was a newborn and at that time I had some extra help so I made it through. Today, I called B who came to rescue for about an hour so I could hibernate and try to get rid of it the best I could. When he had to go he ended up tucking Isla in bed with me.....
She laid down for a total of 23 seconds and then was up and demanding 'acks' (snacks) .... to which I ended up bribing her with Annie's graham crackers and Elmo. I swear she knows just the right pitch to make my head really throb.
After lunch, at least 5 'acks' and playtime that consisted of demanding blocks and then kicking them in all directions (why Isla, WHY?!) I decided it was long-overdue-naptime. She went down great but only slept for 10 minutes and then was up yelling 'acks' at me (That is real.) I went in to find a blown out diaper (most likely from all the 'acks'). After a new diaper, a 2nd round of milk and the clear realization that she wasn't going to nap I found the darkest sunglasses I owned (I looked like I lost my sight all together), strapped a very upset Toddler into her stroller and decided the only way she was going to sleep was on a walk. After 30 minutes of strolling in 82 degree direct sunlight (but who's complaining) she FINALLY went.the.eff.to.sleep.
ayiyyiyi.
I have never wanted to dig a hole and stick my head in it so bad in my life.
Time to suck down my coffee (hoping this helps!) and try to erase the sight of an old man in a speedo who I spotted on my walk (Why, just WHY?!!) I fear it's burnt in there for good.
Hope everyone's having a great Tuesday---xoxo.

My L.
Hi Friends!
I couldn't let the opportunity to blog about my dearest Mama-Friend, L on her Birthday pass me by! And of course, I just had to post this the night before because I know that girl pulls her little Gemmie-Pie into bed in the morning, bribes her with her one TV show of the day and sips her yummy mocha while catching up on blogs--- so L, this one is for you.
I shouldn't start this blog like you start a wedding speech but I'm fully going to--- I met L through my Cousin, Sarah. They were college roommates and the stories these two have from their college days are pretty awesome. When L joined our annual girls weekend our fun went from an awesome 10 to an epic 11. I have never laughed harder than I have with those girls. They are a riot.
L&I were most definitely quick friends but it wasn't until she welcomed Gemma and I soon followed with Isla that our friendship became the amazing thing it is today. On so many occasions I have called her for advice, comic relief, a sanity-saving-venting-session or just to chat-- all in the effort to save myself from the mundane (or insane!) moments of day-to-day motherhood.
She is ALWAYS there for me--always.
....and I have never taken that kind of friendship and loyalty for granted. I thank my lucky stars everyday for her and her sweet little Gemma ;)
I have so much gratitude and love for her and the kind of friend she is to me. Every time she showers love on Isla our friendship grows ten-fold. She has shown up to babysit so I could get time away to myself (and taking on both girls is a SERIOUS handful!). She came over soon after Isla was born and brought us dinner, candy (which she arranged perfectly in a glass dish on our dining room table--Hello Martha Stewart!) and even folded my laundry. Our Wednesday playdates have saved me this first year and a half as I have navigated through motherhood. There is nothing like walking into a friend's house unshowered, in ugly clothes and being handed the most-amazing-mocha and given a hug (even when you smell like baby barf). That is the friend she is. She just gets it.
and.....our road to motherhood. Celebrating Gemma (then Jimmy Frank) and now this baby has been the sweetest time.
I'm so blessed to get to share it with these ladies and my L. There is nothing like having girlfriends who love each others kids and watching them grow-up together. I still envision our kids getting into trouble together as teenagers. Times when we'll have to rant and discipline all while chuckling to ourselves that we would have done exactly the same. I secretly can't wait for the first time I catch Isla and Gemma in some sort of teenage mischief together (god please let it be the easy kind!) It will make my heart happy knowing they are going through those crazy, tumultuous years together--just as L and I are navigating this crazy 'Mom' thing together. Celebrating our little families growing and changing has been a wonderfully, fun adventure. I can't wait to see where this road takes us.
Happy-Happy Birthday my dear, friend. I absolutely adore you and your fabulousness!
As you said to me several months ago on my day, "You're so much more than a friend- you're my 'Mom lifeline! So, so glad you were born!" -- It couldn't be more true.
With so much love and sweet birthday wishes :) Hope Jer&Gem have something wonderful planned! You deserve it :)
ps- Did I mention she makes the BEST cookies on the planet? #friendforlife (I promise I'm not using you just for your baking skills :)

Ballard Locks
Hi Friends!
I have been compulsively crossing out items on my 'to-do list' (that just never ends) while Isla naps this week and I finally got to:
#19. Clear out "drafts" folder on both blogs.
I tend to get blog ideas and if I don't finish them right away or get distracted with Isla I save them in the "drafts" folder with every intention to come back. Unfortunately, sometimes I never come back to them. I FINALLY went through my drafts folder and took my 30+ blog posts down to 13. Yay me!
This means, you are going to get some older (yet still relevant!) posts-- like the one below. This one is from last Summer but it still is a good one to blog about! I was going to do a series about Family Fun Outings in Seattle...I got as far as this Ballard Locks blog and didn't continue it (obviously it was so successful--boooo,S!)-- So without further adieu....this long overdue and perfectly timed (Take advantage of this GREAT SUMMER WEATHER!) Seattle post!
________________________________________________
We love to explore our city and play 'tourist' for the day! There are so many fun, family oriented and better yet, FREE things to do in Seattle. The Ballard Locks are one of those fun (and free!) activities and are always worth the trip! We usually go through Ballard to have an excuse to stop in to The Other Coast Sandwich shop in downtown Ballard. Do it--you won't regret a second!
There is usually quite a bit of parking (along the train tracks and street) if you get to the Locks early. If you're confused about what the 'locks' are I will briefly enlighten you (because google just gave me a lovely definition and some genius facts):
The Ballard Locks link the Puget Sound with Lake Union and Lake Washington. They were completed in 1917 and the grounds include a visitor's center, gift shop and large greenspace (perfect for picnicking and letting the littles run free!) The basic procedure is : Boats (big and small) pull into the locks, the water level drops as much as 26 feet to bring the boats even with the Puget Sound. The fresh water is exchanged with salt water and 10-15 minutes after this process is complete boats are on their way! You can view the whole thing from the viewing platforms above the locks.
Pretty cool huh?!!!!
The locks are also a critical link for salmon heading upstream to spawn. A 21-step fish ladder allows spawning fish to climb to the freshwater side. The best time to see Salmon spawning is mid to late-August. (L, Possible Mom Date? I think so!)
Yep, it's stroller friendly! Lots of ramps!
Go check it out!

Traveling with Littles
Isla has flown 4 times on her 'free-before-2' ticket and I thought I would blog about the things that worked best for us when traveling. All of the flights we took were 5+ hours and she ranged in age from 8 months to 16 months so hopefully this is good advice for a variety of stages. We definitely 'dug deep' to keep her busy and stay sane while traveling. I hope these help some of you out there -- feel free to message your own as well!
The NUMERO UNO thing to do before flying with your Baby/Toddler is abandon all hope that it will be as relaxing as going alone or as a couple. That just won't happen. Even if your baby is a little flawless gem it's still work. Give yourself a break and just decide you can do it and you're going to roll with it. It will make things a lot easier- believe me!
This is my process for getting through security (whether B's with me or not)--so far it has been rather seamless and everyone at the airport has been very helpful (especially when I'm flying with the baby alone! (It's not as scary as it sounds!)
- I always put Isla in the Ergo to go through security and check-in. I push my carry-on bag (usually a big backpack) in the stroller and drag my luggage behind me. I have curb checked before and it works great also. If you are worried your bag is over-weight (those diapers are heavy! ;) definitely curb check and be prepared to tip. More often than not they will not charge you extra if you're close to the max and loaded down with bags and a baby. Thank you check-in friends! I check my luggage and my carseat which is ALWAYS in a carseat bag. Seriously friends- buy the $35 carseat bag. I just saw someone's booster car seat ripped apart after my last flight. It's worth the money!
**Stroller Note: I love my Britax but I would sob if it got broken traveling so I bought a used Maclaren on Craigslist. It works great for travel and fits in one of those cheap $10 stroller travel bags from Amazon. I did one trip where we purchased an umbrella stroller (for $30) at the destination and I was scared every time Isla rode in it. I also have rented them at the destination. For me, traveling with a used, good quality model is the way to go! **
Also! When you put the carseat in the carseat bag you can put anything 'extra' in the carseat and buckle it in and it travels for free. I always put a small bag of Isla's toys in her carseat (buckled in) and put it in the carseat bag--they come in REALLY handy!
- I always tuck my passport and ticket in the hood of the stroller or the Ergo pocket so it's handy. You can go through security with your little one in a baby carrier. You will need to fold your stroller to go through the scanner along with your carry-ons and shoes :) If you do the baby carrier route they will swab your hands for explosives. It's like having them glossed over with a wet wipe. I always carry a water bottle and bottle of milk for Isla onto the plane. I let the Security person know when I put it on the scanner. They will grab it when it comes through and lead you over to test it. They will wave a test strip over the top of them. They should never dip the strip into the liquid. This all sounds like a lot but it usually is very quick and I've always gotten extra help from a Security Agent or a Family/Priority line (they actually opened one on my account last time, lucky me!)
- I usually do the pre-boarding with Isla because I like to get settled and it can take awhile with a little one. When B's with me we usually board last to give her more time to run around. It just depends what's better for your little one. I usually put her in the Ergo prior to boarding and roll my carry-on backpack down in the stroller. I fold up the stroller before getting on the plane and wear my backpack and Isla the short distance to my seat.
3. When I first get to my seat I pull out anything I think she'll want to play with that's a good distraction. I stock one diaper, wipes and her toys I pulled out in the seat back pocket and put my carry-on in a VERY convenient place. On a long flight you are almost guaranteed to have to get in it again for another diaper or food.
4. Always and I mean ALWAYS pack a snack. I like to do the little snack cup with a mix of bunny grahams, yogurt bites and goldfish but seriously, whichever they prefer works great!
5. Buy the cheese/fruit plate if you fly Alaska Airlines. It's a great way for them to play with non-messy food and waste some time. I had to sit in the back of the plane on the way home and they ran out of this so I went with the Kids Picnic Pack and it's good too but I prefer the cheese&fruit.
6. This brings me to a point I should have mentioned earlier-- When you choose your seat, sit near the front of the plane if possible. You can get off quicker and when that plane lands--that will be the only thing on your mind. If you're flying alone get the aisle so you can get out and walk with your baby (unless your child is a little angel and will sit on your lap and relax-- in that case, take the window!) If you're traveling with a 'helper' choose the aisle and window with a seat in between. Most people won't pick a middle seat so you have a better chance of getting a row to yourself. If I'm in an undesirable seat and traveling alone I usually talk to the airline employees at the gate. They've been really nice and helpful when I needed to be moved or helped out. If they can help they will and an extra dose of 'NICE' goes a long way!
7. If your Toddler's falling apart use the barf bag as a puppet. This has saved me for a couple minutes many times!
Or the let them have your seat and play with the seat belt---the things that entertain them never cease to amaze me!
8. On our last flight, one of the ladies near us loaned us her Daughter's Magformers. Isla loved them and played with them for at least 20 minutes. I would say for ages 18 months-5+ they're awesome. I will definitely buy them for our next flight!
9. Pack a couple small toys and don't be afraid to pull out the iPhone or iPad if things are hitting the fan. You are not going to ruin your child by having them watch Elmo for 5 minutes while you regain your composure.
10. If you are nursing: wear something that doesn't make you crazy -- we're talking 'easy access' here ladies! I am a fan of a cotton T-shirt, maxi skirt and my most-favorite-in-the-WHOLE-WORLD cardigan (find it here) that I used to drape over the front of me or to wear and drape the long front part over Isla -- also perfect for when they fall asleep after nursing---it's perfectly snuggly!
When you get to the destination....
1. I always pack Isla's sound machine and blanket/stuffies from home. The Sleep Consultant I used to work with told me that when you're on vacation you 'do your best' with sleep schedules, kids are going to go to bed late and that's ok...just be fair to them and stick to their sleep routine at night. So even if I put Isla down an hour later I would still do her sleep routine to indicate that it was time to wind down and start bedtime. It worked great for us! I usually ask the hotel to provide a pack&play and I bring a sheet, blanket, etc. I usually stuff these in the big pocket in the front of the suitcase that most people don't use!
2. Seriously, go buy that bib (the Make My Day bib I LOVE!) and bring it. It folds up super small and travels REALLY well. It's also super easy to clean--like "wet wipe easy!"
4. Isla's a great eater but because meal times can be messed up when you change time zones I usually do 'small bite' meals for the first couple days until she adjusts and wants to eat with the group at a restaurant. I usually cut up a variety of food and put them in the fridge so I can grab meals on the go, put something together quickly or make a snack. (The one below makes me look like super Mom- realistically they also include PBJ and some convenient snacky foods :)
Well Friends, that's it! Happy vacationing with your Little One! Making memories on vacation is the most fun--don't be scared to travel, they adapt really well!

flying solo with the baby! = brave!

I use this little cooler with one icepack for a milk bottle and a water bottle on a 5 hour flight. It helps to have sippy cups if they have issues with their ears popping. Security has never had a problem with me taking this through after it has been tested.

Isla loves Sesame Street so in moments of panic on the plane I pull out this "Elmo Calls" app to entertain her for a minute. It usually does the trick as a quick distraction. (Cookie Calls is also fun!)

It even comes in handy for lunches in the car on the go!
3. When it comes to carseats I always take Isla's with us and check it for free. You can rent them from a rental car company, I just have no experience with that. I 100% recommend using a car seat bag to cover the car seat so it doesn't get damaged at check-in. We've never had issues taking her infant seat although I'm somewhat terrified to take her Toddler seat (it's like a huge throne!)
Well Friends, that's it! Happy vacationing with your Little One! Making memories on vacation is the most fun--don't be scared to travel, they adapt really well!
Ps.... even when you feel like this......
Hang in there!!!!
Get a Coffee!
(or a mai tai!)
Sun and a lovely vacation awaits! :)

Tuesday's "Monday Blues"
**Warning: Full blown rant below**
Today feels like a Monday around here.
I've had so many really good days with Isla lately I haven't even blogged about them because I just don't want to miss a minute of her super fun moods (I love walking in her room and having her chatter to me as soon as I get in the door) or new little words (she said "beach" today!). She has been super happy and cuddly (a nice side effect of her current growth spurt).
All of that said, today is not looking like one of those days.
We had a super nice morning with Daddy.B. Isla slept until 7:25 which is a lot nicer than her 5:15 AM wake-up yesterday (UG!) Right when I went in her room she started chattering about "Daddy" and to every question I asked the answer was an emphatic "YAH!" or "yah, yah" as if to just appease me until she could see her Daddy. Thanks Isla- she's too kind.
I'm not sure where the day turned around and reared it's big ugly face in my direction---Possibly around the time I was trying to get ready and every time I looked back to see Isla destroying something. Possibly after I put on the 4th outfit that I hated to see Isla jamming my chapstick into the top of my deodorant on the gray rug. Possibly when I smelled like "powder fresh" Dove deodorant after cleaning up the mess above. Possibly when I realized we were TOTALLY OUT OF COFFEE and I was already running late to Isla's Toddler class. Possibly when I finally made it to the car and realized I had to reinstall Isla's carseat from this weekend when we decided it was a 'brilliant' idea to take B's car (EEEE! Will never do that again!). Possibly when I got stuck behind the Pyramid beer truck on the way to class with it's hazards on, barely moving through a one lane street (I'm not late or anything?!) or maybe when the guy behind me at the gas station pulled in not to pump gas, oh no!, just to smoke a cigarette with his window down. Apparently he'd hate to get that cancer causing smoke in his own vehicle--why not blow it in the direction of the lady who obviously has a child--strapped in her seat..... Isla and I held hostage by cigarette smoke and one selfish jerk. $*%#@!!!!!!
I just wanted to bang my head on the steering wheel and inject an americano into my veins.
By the time I got home for lunch, with one apparently starving Toddler in tow--I've never seen a baby that is so dramatic at meal times!, I was at the end of my rope and ready to turn the day around. I just don't have time to be this irritated today.
So.... I made Isla lunch and while she was trapped in her high chair, I cleaned my house, prepared Isla's milk (and dreamt of her nap time, providing me with a much needed break) and turned on Hook (because who doesn't love an old school flick when they're day is sucking it up?!)
Here's to hoping I'm on the road to better hours ahead--- I can't wait to see how many new words Isla tries out today! She's a talking machine!
I hope everyone's having a great TUESDAY (and if you're having a 'Monday' like me-- hang in there! and drink more coffee-- it always helps!)

Yesterdays 'cuddle bug mode'
She's such a 'big girl' these days. (Yesterday's walk :)
All of that said, today is not looking like one of those days.

Come on caffeine---cure these 'bad day' blues!!!

Steel Trap
Hi Friends!
I used to have a friend say that anything I told him was 'locked in his steel trap' (i.e.: his head) which explains the title to this post. These are the randoms that are floating around in my 'steel trap' today.
1. If I have to say, "Isla you only have 2 feet, you can't wear 3 shoes" one more time I'm going to scream. My kid is a shoe fanatic and just doesn't think it's fair that she can only physically wear 2 shoes at a time. Learning life is tough is rough on a Toddler.
2. I am constantly amazed and amused by the many babysitters (i.e.: all family members) who put Isla's diaper on backwards. That's hard to do. I'm actually impressed. (Today while I was telling my Brother-in-law which direction it goes he said, 'well, I definitely put it on backwards'- ahahah!)
3. I had the most vivid dreams that my longtime friend who's prego had this beautiful, petite little baby GIRL. It has stuck with me all morning. I can't get her little face and head of dark hair out of my mind. They find out what they're having on 8-4. I can't wait to hear if I'm right.
4. Yesterday, when I was unloading Isla at the park a woman pulled up right next to me with her window down and her cigarette billowing smoke at Isla's stroller. WHO DOES THAT?! I was SO $*&#$#@JIG!!!! If I was packing up and leaving I would have said something but I didn't want her to key my car (she looked like she was capable of it!) 'Smoking out' a BABY- really?!!
5. I FINALLY decided on a diaper bag and I'm SO EXCITED! Can't wait to reveal it :)
6. My fab SIL, Erin and I planned a birthday party for our hubby's since their birthdays are 5 days apart (yes, their parents were creatures of habit! 5 days is pretty impressive timing) and the weather has been so fabulous we were thinking it would be perfect for an electric boat cruise with friends. Turns out it's now going to rain all weekend--WTH Seattle?!
7. Isla has lots of new words she's saying! My favorite new animal word she says is "Croc-Croc" for crocodile and she calls water - "agua"-- I have NO idea where she got this. She's apparently part Hispanic.
8. I ran into Nordy's Anniversary sale today to check out the 2 diaper bags I've been eyeing. Turns out they had the $20 babiators I just bought for $12 on sale---just please! AND the Nuna P&P I bought a year ago was $90 cheaper than what I paid. $&#*(@&$#!!!
9. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this sunny weather. I love spending all these sunny days outside with Isla. She loves nothing more than sun and barefeet. That said, I can't wait for Fall. I just bought Isla a little Fall sweater and I can't wait to do my Fall mini-sessions in October. Oh and Fall boots at Nordy's---c'mon! I need a pair of Frye's in my life! (too bad my budget says otherwise! :( boo!)
10. Isla is now a master at stalling bedtime. She sits back in my lap, smiles at me with all her teeth, chatters a bit, then points to her diaper to insinuate that it's 'dirty.' It never is and every time she looks at me and gives a coy little 'gotcha Mom' grin. That girl is trouble---she totally melts me and she knows it!
Happy Friday Eve Everyone!

Babiators
Hi Friends!
If you know my kid you know she hates accessories- she likes putting things on and immediately taking them off-- THRILLING. (boo!) Anywho--- I couldn't get her to wear a pair of sunglasses to save my life but she was always squinting and I was always forgetting her hat (fail!) so.... I saw these baby sunglasses in a local kids store and had to run home and check out the details on their replacement guarantee. Guys- they replace the glasses if you lose them or they get damaged within a year. Obviously that was a no brainer for us! I snagged a pair on Amazon for $20. I know that's a little steep for baby sunglasses BUT they have 100% protection, BPA and gross chems free, they look cool, come in 2 sizes AND they have that guarantee.
I tried them today and Miss Isla kept them on the entire time we walked around Kirkland. She was totally styling and got lots of fun compliments :) Check them out they're awesome sauce! Link is Here.
My kid is all business.
Swoon! Bloomz
Hi Friends!
I am once again SO impressed with my order from Leslie's Bloomz shop on Etsy I had to share!
Bloomz sells the little felt bows that Isla wears (and that she wore in D&E's wedding--perfect!) This time around I asked Leslie to do a purple&gold Husky bow for Dawg Dash and she made Isla the cutest UW inspired bows and even threw in a freebie for us!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this shop-- the prices are perfect! Quality is awesome (especially since it's up against the busy-ness of my Toddler) and Leslie's friendliness and professionalism is always very appreciated. As a Mom the last thing you want to do is have to track down your etsy orders--I love that I've never had ANY issues with any of the products I've ordered here. This is not a sponsored post, just a whole lot of love for Bloomz. Check them out! Link is: Here
There are a ton of colors of little bows and she does special orders- the lower purple bow is GLITTER. FUN! There are a bunch of glitter bow colors too!
Isn't it funny.....
..... that the best part of a Toddler/Baby class is still the parachute even when you're a parent!
Isla's Monday Toddler class does the parachute and parachute rides for the babies. She LOVES it. When it first comes out and everyone's getting their handles she stands right in the middle and Teacher Karen always has to say, "Isla, you have to wait for your ride"--- eager lady!

(Not) Getting your Green
Hi Friends!
This post is part of my 'Getting your Greens' series but it's for biscuits which have zero green in them--they just go deliciously with greens! Honestly they're my favorite savory, easy biscuit recipe. You mix 'em up real quick, drop them on the pan and they take 12 mins to cook. They're perfect everytime--I love them with soup or salad but I'm sure they're delicious with anything.
Tonight I paired them with a veggie chowder. I know what you're thinking ..... 85 degrees Sandi, chowder & delicious biscuits, really?! YES! I had to use up a bunch of veggies and used a great recipe where I could get in cauliflower, broccoli, potatoes, celery and carrots----an entire garden in a bowl (and it was REALLY GOOD!)....so it was like I kinda got my greens :)
Ok for real- save this recipe and try these. I love them!
A couple of quick cooking notes:
-If you don't have buttermilk don't stress! Just use my trick---put 1 cup buttermilk in a bowl with 1 Tbsp of white vinegar and let it sit for 5 mins. That's your buttermilk substitute!
-Bake at 450 but if your oven bakes hot watch them so the tops don't burn.
-I throw in fresh cut onion but minced onion from the spice aisle works too.

"These tasty biscuits have a savory Cheddar and onion flavor. Perfect with a bowl of chili or hearty soup in the winter or a main dish salad in the summer."
INGREDIENTS:
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter
|
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar
cheese
1 cup 1% buttermilk
|
DIRECTIONS:
1. | Preheat an oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. |
2. | Whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl. Cut the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture resembles course crumbs. Stir the onion, Parmesan cheese, and Cheddar cheese into the flour mixture. Pour the buttermilk into the bowl; stir until evenly combined. Drop by 1/4-cupfuls onto prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. |
3. | Bake in the preheated oven until the tops of the biscuits are lightly browned, 12 to 15 minutes. Serve warm. |
